Understand how the sequence in which you use the products interferes with the care of your hair
The shampoo is the first on the list of the daily beauté ritual, of course. It plays a key role in hair washing, as it opens the cuticles and deeply sanitizes the wires , facilitating the absorption of the treatments that follow. “There are two main textures of shampoo: pearlescent, more moisturizing and nutritious , and transparent, indicated for a deeper cleaning,” compares Renata Dios of Spa Dios, in São Paulo.
You already know, but worth repeating: softness is the key word for a good wash . “The tip is to massage with your fingertips – not your fingernails – not to hurt,” Renata says. Plus: avoid rubbing the wicks to the maximum, a practice that contributes to frizz and dryness.
Open cuticle yarns easily absorb the properties of the mask , which should be applied right after the shampoo in your ritual. There are endless options on the market: those that moisturize, nourish, repair, soften, replenish proteins necessary to maintain capillary health … “Each one has a special function, usually indicated on a case-by-case basis, after a personalized evaluation”, recalls Renata Dios.
The final and definitive step is to seal the cuticles with a good conditioner . In addition to maintaining internal treatment and regaining post-wash softness, the product helps – a lot! – not discharged after bathing. Dry tips call for more emollient products with silk proteins, wheat germ, almond oil and macadamia in the formula. Already more oily hair is best with natural actives such as aloe vera and rosemary.
